About Us

We build software that solves a specific problem well.

Asternodis is made by Irruptiv Software Solutions, a software company that has spent years building and shipping systems for clients. Disaster recovery for Proxmox VE is the problem we decided to take on next.

Where this came from

For years our work has been the same shape: a client has a problem that off-the-shelf software does not fit, and we build the thing that does. That work puts you in a lot of server rooms and a lot of infrastructure, and the same gap kept showing up.

Proxmox VE runs real production workloads. It is a capable hypervisor with a serious following, and teams move to it for good reasons. But it ships nothing like VMware SRM or Zerto: no recovery plans, no non-disruptive DR tests, no orchestrated failover. The teams we met were scripting it by hand and hoping it would work on the day, or paying enterprise prices for tooling that was never built for Proxmox in the first place.

That is a problem worth solving properly rather than working around. So we built Asternodis: near-continuous replication to a second site on any storage, DR tests you can run during business hours without touching production, and failover and failback driven from one console at either site.

How we build it

Three commitments shape the product. Each one is a decision we have already made in the code, not an aspiration, and each links to the page that shows it.

Your data stays yours

Replication runs directly between your two sites, over a mutually authenticated channel. No workload data passes through us, and there is no proprietary agent inside your guests. We cannot read your data because it never reaches us. How that works →

Licensing can never block a recovery

Licences are verified offline, so no licence server sits between you and a failover. If a licence lapses, failover, failback and abort keep working. A disaster is the worst possible moment to discover a billing problem, so we made that impossible rather than unlikely. Licence terms →

We publish what we have actually tested

Our storage support matrix marks each combination as tested or untested, and the untested ones say so plainly instead of being quietly implied. In disaster recovery, a capability you assumed and never exercised is worse than one you knew you lacked. See the matrix →
